Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering (ME) is an engineering discipline that involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It requires a solid understanding of key concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics and energy. Mechanical engineers use these principles and others in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, heating and cooling systems, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, medical devices and more.

Smart Manufacturing

Smart Manufacturing (SM) is a technology-driven approach that utilizes Internet-connected machinery to monitor the production process. The goal of SM is to identify opportunities for automating operations and use data analytics to improve manufacturing performance. The scope of smart manufacturing technologies has become broader due to the inter-operation of various technologies resulting in cost-effectiveness, time-saving, easy configuration, better understanding, quick response to market demand, flexibility and remote monitoring.

M.Tech

CAD/CAM

M. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with CAD/CAM specialization provides an opportunity for engineering students to mould themselves to meet the needs, requirements and challenges of product development industries. The proposed program would offer the students to learn design and manufacturing as adopted by the Industry in the present form i.e. in the form of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) as well as their proper and seamless integration. M.Tech. programme would concentrate on developing professionals who would become the real life problem solvers, and who would be effectively trained in modern software and hardware tools like geometric modeling, solid modeling, CNC programming, Additive manufacturing, OGL programming, etc.

Design

M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Design specialization provides an opportunity for engineering students to develop a design and failure analysis experience in the budding engineers. This will offer them a chance to design and analyze products from the design perspective. Therefore, the long-term goal of this programme is to enhance learning towards design and analysis of products and services. It will cater to the need of today’s industrial and social environment as well as maintenance of the products which has now become so common in use

Manufacturing

The objective of this program is to impart the required multi-disciplinary education and skills in an environment that fosters excellence in research and awareness of the many challenges of modern Industrial and modern Manufacturing Systems.

Manufacturing Curriculum

Mechatronics

Introducing Mechatronics in the engineering curriculum supports the synergistic integration of precision mechanical engineering, electronics and control systems into the design, the commissioning, the operation, the maintenance and the repair of “intelligent” products and processes
